Pipeline inaugurated by Hasina-Modi
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will jointly inaugurate the construction of Bangladesh-India Friendship Pipeline between Shiliguri in West Bengal and Parbatipur in Dinajpur today.
They will open the work of the oil pipeline through a videoconference from their respective capitals at 5:00pm, the Prime Minister's Office sources said.

The oil pipeline will supply 250,000 tonnes of diesel a year to Bangladesh. The diesel will be transported through a cross-border train from Assam’s Numaligarh refinery to Dinajpur’s Parbatipur depot.
Besides the pipeline, the two leaders will inaugurate the construction of the third and fourth dual gauge rail lines in Dhaka-Tongi and Tongi-Joydevpur sections of Bangladesh Railway.
