Orphanage Trust case: Khaleda seeks stay on HC verdict
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has filed an appeal an appeal with chamber court of the appellate division seeking a stay on her 10-year jail sentence in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
The appeal was filed with relevant branch of the Supreme Court on Monday (Nov 19).

Earlier On October 30, the High Court extended her five-year jail term that was handed down by a lower court in the corruption case. The new punishment was 10 years imprisonment.
On February 8, the Dhaka Special Judges Court-5 sentenced the BNP chairperson to five years’ imprisonment and five other accused in the case, including her son and BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, to 10 years’ imprisonment each.
The ACC filed a revision appeal seeking her sentence to be extended to life imprisonment.
