Government nationalize 271 colleges (With List)

The Ministry of Education has brought 271 private colleges under the Monthly Payment Order (MPO) facility. Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Sunday issued an order signed by Deputy Secretary Nasim Khanom.

Earlier on Thursday, the prime minister's offices gave final approval for the colleges.

Now, the total number of the government colleges stands at over 6 hundred.

The authorities concerned handed over movable and immovable properties of the colleges to the government.

The government, earlier decided to nationalise one college of each upazila where there was no government college.

These institutions have been brought under government facility as promised by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to bring one school-college under government facility in each district and upazila.
