Mirza Abbas, wife get anticipatory bail in Naya Paltan cases

Senior BNP leader Mirza Abbas and his wife also the President of Mohila Dol, Afroza Abbas have secured an eight-week anticipatory bail from the High Court in the cases filed over violence in front of BNP office in Nayapaltan.

on Sunday (Nov 18) the HC bench of Judges Md Rezaul Huq and Jafar Ahmed passed the order.

Ehsanur Rahman, the lawyer of the couple, said, "The High Court has granted them an eight-week bail in three cases filed for alleged attacks on police and causing violence in Nayapaltan on Wednesday."

"Now, they have to appear before the trial court and seek permanent bail," he added.

A total of 488 people, including senior BNP leaders, were made accused in those three cases.
